Fatty liver: with retatrutide, 86% normalised their liver fat
Phase 2a substudy in Nature Medicine: liver fat fell by more than 80% at higher doses in 24 weeks.
In this randomised, double-blind substudy, 98 people with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease received weekly retatrutide (1, 4, 8 or 12 mg) or placebo for 48 weeks.
At 24 weeks, liver fat fell by 81.4% with 8 mg and 82.4% with 12 mg, versus a 0.3% increase with placebo. Normal levels, below 5%, were reached by 79% with 8 mg and 86% with 12 mg; none with placebo.
In three points
- Phase 2a human study, double-blind
- Liver fat −82.4% with 12 mg at 24 weeks
- 86% returned to normal liver fat levels
